The age limit for the SSC CHSL posts is 18-27 years. Candidates born not before 02-08-1997 and not later than 01-08-2006 are eligible to apply. Permissible relaxation in the upper age limit for different categories is as below:

The salary structure for different posts under the SSC Combined Higher Secondary Level exam is given below:

Selection Process:
The SSC CHSL selection process evaluates candidates’ aptitude, proficiency, and suitability for various roles through several stages:
- Tier-1 Written Exam: A computer-based test assessing general intelligence, English language, quantitative aptitude, and general awareness. It’s objective and time-bound.
- Tier-2 Written Exam: For those passing Tier-1, this is a descriptive paper in English or Hindi focusing on writing skills necessary for government jobs involving documentation and reports.
- Tier-3 Skill Test/Typing Test: This phase tests data entry or typing speeds specific to the applied post and is qualifying.
- Document Verification: Candidates who pass previous stages undergo verification of all original documents to confirm application details.
- Medical Test: Finally, candidates must pass a medical exam to confirm their fitness for the specific post.
